My center is the place I like to go that feels quiet both internally and externally. Now I couldn't function in the real world if I physically ran away in the event of any minor upset so I wanted to share just a few things I do to find my center and maybe it will help someone on their journey. Taking a long deep breath in and holding for a few seconds and then slowly releasing that breathe can bring me back to center. What I mean to further clarify ones personal center is tapping into our soul; that place of eternal love and peace. Sometimes its takes several deep breaths to get to this place if I am at work or at home. The best thing about using your breath to find your center is that nobody has to know your doing it. =)
When at home have a space that is your own. It doesn't have to be an entire room as that isn't an option for most people but if you do; then that's awesome. But just a small place to make your own. Create your own little alter space with things that bring you joy. I have a few little places in my home that are alter spaces as for me it brings peace, joy and solitude in each of the places. My areas ( or I call them altars ) are aprox 12" X 12" spaces. So not very big. You can place photos, flowers, stones or shells you've collected. Just place small items that mean something to you. I often add incense and candles to my alters.
Another way to find your center is to ground yourself. One of my favorites. Go for a quick walk. Step outside where you work, if your home go outside, take off your shoes and feel the earth beneath your feet. This is a very calming and soothing way to bring you back to center. When your outside, listen. What do you hear? What do you smell? Notice how you feel more calm.
I hope you find some of this helpful as you go along your own journey and find your purpose in this life. This is not an inclusive list but simply a few simple tips.
Have a wonderful day and make sure you find your center when you get off balance.
